Klättermusen - "Maximum safety for you - minimum impact on nature"

I've been on the search for a new jacket for a while, and was happy when I recently discovered Klättermusen, a Swedish company that produces outdoor clothing and equipment with principles of sustainability in mind. Klättermusen allocates one percent of sales to environmental projects and they use recycled materials in some of their equipment and clothing, like the back pack Gnå, for which they were awarded with Ispo's "ECO Responsibility Award".

They also produce some clothing made of densly woven (etaproof) organic cotton and use fluorocarbon-free weather proofing. Here you can read more about one of their jackets in organic etaproof cotton.

They used to have the statement "Don't buy a jacket if you don't need one" on their web pages. This is probably the most eco-friendly advice you can get from a company that manufactures clothing, and I really hope they put it back on their web page. It was one of the things that made me want to buy a Klättermusen jacket when I needed a new jacket.
